Community Solar in the Midwest continues to expand across a number of States driven by the understanding of how quickly these types of programs can deliver actual deployed MWs of clean energy at a time when large scale Utility-owned or Utility PPA contracted projects are struggling to navigate interconnection and permitting processes. In addition to the speed of deployment, Community Solar also creates a number of opportunities for those individuals, businesses, and municipalities who might not otherwise be able to participate directly in the clean energy transition to receive significant economic benefits. This combination of accelerated deployment and inclusiveness make Community Solar a very viable option for political compromise for certain States and Utilities. We’ll discuss specific elements of some of the current and soon to be Community Solar markets with a panel of experts.
